Challenger Valves & Actuators were established in 1984 and are a leading manufacturer, supplier and distributor of valving and actuation, providing products and solutions to the water, power, mining, irrigation and general industries.  Challenger Valves & Actuators are a national company with facilities in Shepparton (Head Office), Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Perth. 

Challenger Valves & Actuators are currently seeking a full time motivated and reliable Junior Storeperson to join their growing Shepparton team.  This is a generalist Storeperson position that plays a key role in assisting with the day-to-day general running and support of the warehouse.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting with Valve Assembly

  • Assisting in Valve Assembly

  • Collecting parts and restocking valve components

  • Assisting with pre-testing and final testing

  • Undertake basic machining and repairs

  • Incoming and outgoing freight management

  • Stock presentation and rotation

  • Operating a forklift

  • Undertaking local deliveries

  • Assistance with stocktake

  • General cleaning and maintenance of warehouse 

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

  • Be highly self-motivated, with strong willingness to learn

  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Have the ability to work unsupervised

  • Be efficient and accurate with the ability to multitask and move to new tasks quickly

  • Take pride in their work and be a team player

  • Have sound administration and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Be in good physical health to undertake the requirements of the position

  • Hold a High Risk Work Licence (Forklift), or willingness to obtain

  • Hold a Current and valid diver’s licence

  • Have full eligibility to work in Australia

Ideally we are looking for someone looking to start a career within storage or warehouse services, manufacturing and/or the water or irrigation industry.  Applicants who have previous school-based trade skills or plumbing experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Challenger will provide on the job training and support to those entering the workforce.  Candidates that do not possess the full skills / experience listed above are still encouraged to apply.
